Key takeaways
  • Atomic raised a $12.5 million Series A co-led by Klass Capital and Madrona, announced September 29, 2026.
  • Its software runs alongside existing ERP systems and moves from recommending to placing purchase orders.
  • Customer results at DashMart and Good Chop are company-reported; an SEC filing reportedly shows more was sold than announced.

Atomic, a Boston startup building AI-native supply chain planning software, raised a $12.5 million Series A led by Klass Capital and Madrona, announced on September 29, 2026. The company was founded by three former Tesla planning leaders and says its software now makes purchasing decisions for customers including DoorDash's DashMart business.

What was announced

  • Investors: Klass Capital and Madrona co-led. Alumni Ventures, Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners and DVx Ventures are also backers, according to Tech Funding News. Adrian Schauer of Klass, Matt McIlwain of Madrona and Jon McNeill of DVx sit on the board.
  • Founders: Michael Rossiter (CEO), Neal Suidan and Jeff Goodrich. All three led sales and operations planning (S&OP) at Tesla through the Model 3 ramp-up. Atomic was incubated at DVx Ventures.
  • Use of funds: expanding the platform and larger enterprise deployments. The money is not itemized.

What the product does

Atomic models a business at the product level and links company objectives to daily inventory, purchasing and production decisions. It gives recommendations with their reasoning, and its AI agents take on more work as customers build trust. Its Nucleus agent platform is used for S&OP preparation, inventory questions and supply-risk checks.

Atomic runs alongside a customer's existing ERP system and does not replace it. Tech Funding News reports customers can deploy the planning layer in about 30 days using existing data.

Rossiter said: "Most companies can't justify building the kind of planning engineering team we had at Tesla."

Customer results (company-reported)

CustomerReported result
DoorDash's DashMartAtomic automates 90% of purchasing across hundreds of sites
Good Chop (HelloFresh's meat box business)Inventory on hand fell from 8 to 9 weeks to 4, and revenue more than doubled

These figures come from Atomic. Pulse 2.0 notes the revenue growth is not clearly attributed to Atomic, and Tech Funding News says neither customer is quoted on the results.

What is not known

  • Annual recurring revenue, headcount and valuation.
  • Total funding. Tech Funding News says an SEC filing reportedly shows $18.5 million sold, about $6 million more than the announced round. It did not provide the filing, so we could not verify this.
  • Whether the results at DashMart and Good Chop would hold at other customers. Only two customers are named.

Why it matters

Atomic's pitch is that planning software should place the orders, not only recommend them, and that it can do so on top of the ERP a company already has. That is a common pattern in the vertical AI companies raising money now. See EliseAI and Flow Engineering. If you run operations or buy planning software, ask any vendor in this category what the system is allowed to do without approval, how decisions are logged, and which results come from named customers. A 90% automation figure is worth testing against your own data before you rely on it.
