Key takeaways
  • Atlassian Cloud list prices rise on October 13, 2026; partners estimate increases of about 3% to 10% by product.
  • Usage billing for Rovo credits, automation steps and other meters starts December 3, 2026 for most meters.
  • The percentages are partner estimates, and extra usage is on by default for most organizations per Atlassian's pricing page.

Atlassian raises Cloud list prices on October 13, 2026, with increases of roughly 3% to 10% depending on the product, and starts billing for AI and automation usage beyond plan allowances on December 3, 2026. Atlassian's own pages describe the usage-based change. The list-price percentages come from Atlassian partners that compared its published pricing tables.

The October 13 list-price update

Two Atlassian partners, Valiantys and Sketch Development Services, describe the same schedule. Sketch says Atlassian announced the update on August 28. We could not open Atlassian's own announcement, so treat the figures below as partner estimates and check Atlassian's pricing pages before budgeting.

ProductReported change
Jira and Confluence Standard and Premium+7% (under 5,000 seats) or +10% (over 5,000), per Valiantys
Jira and Confluence Enterprise+8%
Jira Service Management Standard and Premium+7.5%
Jira Service Management Enterprise+10%
Jira Product Discovery+5%
Atlassian Guard+3% Standard, +5% Premium
Bitbucket Cloud Premium+10%

Who is affected, according to the partners:

  • New purchases, renewals, upgrades and expansions made on or after October 13 use the new prices.
  • Monthly subscriptions move to the new price on the first billing date on or after October 13.
  • October 12 is the last day to request a quote at current pricing. Existing quotes are generally honored until they expire.
  • Marketplace apps are priced separately by their developers.

Usage-based billing from December 3

Atlassian announced on September 1 that it is expanding usage-based pricing, with allowance limits and billing starting December 3, 2026 for most meters. Its pricing page lists these meters:

  • Rovo credits for AI chat and agents. Rovo Search, summaries and rewrites stay free.
  • Automation steps, counted per action, condition, branch or loop instead of per flow.
  • Assets objects, Bitbucket build minutes and storage, and AI agent resolutions in customer service management.

Plans include monthly allowances that are pooled across the organization, reset monthly and do not roll over. Atlassian says seat-based subscriptions and renewals are unchanged, work is not deleted when a limit is reached, and admins are notified at 80% and 100% of an allowance. The page says extra usage is enabled by default for most organizations, and admins can turn it off per meter or set spending limits. Sketch points out that its own guidance says extra usage will be on by default, while Atlassian's FAQ says it varies by organization, so check the setting in Atlassian Administration.

What is not known

  • The Rovo credit, Assets and resolution allowance amounts for each plan were not stated on the pages we read.
  • Billing dates can vary by organization, and Atlassian says it will tell each one.

Why it matters

If your team uses Jira or Confluence, two bills may change within two months: the seat price in October and metered AI and automation use in December. Before October 12, check renewal dates and seat counts, and consider asking for a quote if you expect to buy or renew soon. Then review your automation rules and the extra usage setting before December 3, since a rule that runs many steps could now cost money. This is part of a wider move from seat-only pricing to seats plus usage. See also T-Mobile's reported T-Mix picks for another credit-based bundle.
