Transparency & Tracking

Cookie Policy

Effective Date: October 29, 2026 · Last Updated: October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Appboxs ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies, HTTP headers, and browser storage technologies when you access appboxs.com. We believe in complete transparency and use cookies primarily for essential site security, authentication, and platform performance.

1. What Are Cookies & Tracking Technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) by web servers when you browse a website. They allow the website to recognize your device, remember your authentication session across page navigations, and protect services from abusive traffic.

In addition to traditional cookies, modern web applications may utilize related browser storage mechanisms such as LocalStorage and SessionStorage, which store small data snippets locally on your device rather than transmitting them to the server on every HTTP request.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

Appboxs categorizes cookies into the following functional groups:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are indispensable for the website to function. They enable core features such as passwordless magic link session management (via Supabase) and security verification (via Cloudflare Turnstile). Without these cookies, you cannot sign in or manage submissions.
  • Security & Bot Defense Cookies: Used by our edge security providers to distinguish legitimate human visitors from automated crawlers, malicious bots, and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attempts.
  • Functional Preferences: Remember settings such as your active tab in our markdown editors or preferred viewing preferences.
  • Aggregate Performance Metrics: We may measure page load times and aggregated readership traffic to optimize server caching and guide discovery. We do not track individual cross-site browsing behavior.

3. Detailed Cookie Inventory

Below is a detailed inventory of the primary cookies and security tokens deployed across Appboxs:

Cookie / IdentifierProviderPurpose & CategoryDuration
sb-*-auth-tokenSupabase AuthStrictly Necessary: Stores your encrypted authentication session token when you log in via magic link so you remain signed in across the portal.Persistent (Up to 1 year or until sign out)
cf_clearanceCloudflareSecurity: Remembers that your device successfully passed a Cloudflare Turnstile or security challenge, preventing repetitive prompts.Persistent (Up to 1 year)
__cf_bmCloudflareSecurity: Bot management cookie used to identify and filter malicious automated bot traffic.30 minutes

4. Interactive Tools & Local Storage

Appboxs provides interactive developer and productivity tools—including the Airtable Formula Generator, Email Signature Generator, and UTM Builder.

Client-Side Processing: All computations for these utilities happen locally within your browser sandbox using JavaScript. If temporary formula drafts or parameters are retained between visits, they are stored strictly within your browser's local client storage (localStorage) and are never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.

5. Third-Party Integrations & Outbound Links

Our articles, guides, and tools frequently cite and link out to official developer documentation and third-party SaaS services (e.g. Supabase, Softr, Airtable, HubSpot, GitHub).

When you click an outbound link to an external website, that third party may set their own independent cookies according to their respective policies. Appboxs has no control over third-party cookies placed once you leave our domain.

6. How to Manage or Disable Cookies

You have the right to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies by default, but you can modify your browser settings to decline or delete them at any time:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies

Impact of Disabling Cookies: If you choose to reject or block all cookies, please note that essential platform functionality—including passwordless magic link sign-ins, submitting press releases, and bot security verification—will be impaired or unavailable.

7. Updates to This Policy & Contact

We may periodically update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in legal requirements or technological updates. Any revisions will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
