Anthropic launches Claude for Financial Services: 10 agents, 12 data connectors

Anthropic released Claude for Financial Services, an open-source suite of 10 named workflow agents and 7 vertical plugins for investment banking, equity research, private equity, fund administration, and operations. The agents are available as Claude Cowork plugins or through the Claude Managed Agents API for headless deployment behind a firm's own workflow engine. The suite includes 12 data connectors to live research platforms and document stores.

The release bundles end-to-end agents for the workflows Anthropic sees most often in financial services:

Each agent is self-contained — installing one plugin bundles the skills it needs. Agents are also available as Managed Agent templates for firms deploying through Anthropic's API instead of Cowork.

Data connectors and integrations

All agents draw on a shared set of 12 data connectors, bundled in the financial-analysis core plugin:

Connectors: Daloopa, Morningstar, S&P Global, FactSet, Moody's, MT Newswires, Aiera, LSEG, PitchBook, Chronograph, Egnyte, Box
Partner plugins: LSEG (bond RV, swap curves, FX carry, options vol) and S&P Global (tear sheets, earnings previews)

Connectors use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and integrate with Claude's context window — agents automatically pull live data from research platforms, terminals, and document stores without switching tools.

Vertical plugins and deployment

Beyond the named agents, the suite ships with seven vertical plugins bundled by workflow type:

• financial-analysis (core) — modeling skills (comps, DCF, LBO, 3-statement, deck QC, Excel audit) and all data connectors
• investment-banking — CIMs, teasers, process letters, merger models, deal tracking
• equity-research — earnings notes, initiations, model updates, thesis tracking
• private-equity — sourcing, diligence checklists, IC memos, portfolio monitoring
• fund-admin — GL reconciliation, accruals, roll-forwards, NAV tie-out
• operations — KYC document parsing and rules evaluation
• claude-for-financial-advisors — meeting prep, compliance pre-check, rebalance review on live CRM and portfolio data

Deployment:

• Cowork — Install plugins via the Cowork marketplace or upload a zip
• Claude Code (CLI) — Add the marketplace and install agents and verticals via CLI
• Managed Agents API — Deploy templates headless via /v1/agents, orchestrate via steering events
• Microsoft 365 — Admin tooling included to provision Claude inside Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

Important: staged for human review

Anthropic notes in the README that agents draft work product — models, memos, research notes, reconciliations — for review by a qualified professional. They do not make investment recommendations, execute transactions, bind risk, post to a ledger, or approve onboarding. Every output is staged for human sign-off. Firms remain responsible for verifying outputs and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Why it matters

This is the first full-stack, multi-agent suite Claude has shipped for a vertical market. The release signals Anthropic's push into enterprise financial services — providing not just a model, but pre-built workflows, data integrations, and deployment options (Cowork for ad-hoc work; Managed Agents for embedded ops). Firms can now pick the agents and verticals they need, wire them to their own data, and run them on their own infrastructure or Anthropic's. The open-source repository on GitHub also means firms can fork, customize prompts and skills, or build their own agents on top of the same patterns. For SaaS vendors serving financial services, this is a signal that Claude (and likely other LLMs) are moving from co-pilot to workflow automation — and that vertical integration matters.
