Asana buys no-code agent builder StackAI for $75M

Asana is acquiring StackAI, a no-code platform for building AI agents that work inside a company's existing systems, for $75 million. The deal was announced on May 28, 2026. StackAI's founders, Bernard Aceituno and Tony Rosinol, are joining Asana.

What StackAI does

StackAI lets teams build agents without code. The agents automate workflows by connecting to the tools a business already uses, such as Salesforce, Slack and Google Workspace, pulling data out of them and acting on it.

Funding before the exit

• Went through Y Combinator (Winter 2023 batch).
• Raised just under $20 million in total.
• Its most recent round was a $16 million Series A from Gradient, Epakon Capital, Lobby VC and LifeX Ventures, plus Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch.

Where it fits in Asana

StackAI will join Asana's growing AI line-up alongside AI Studio and AI Teammates. Asana wants to be the "operating system for human-agent teams."

CEO Dan Rogers said the deal speeds up Asana's roadmap. He described StackAI as a way for customers to "agentify" their most complex business processes from start to finish.

Why it matters

Work-management tools are turning into agent platforms. Asana already coordinates who does what. With StackAI, it can let agents do part of the work too, reaching into the CRM, chat and document tools where the work actually happens. If Asana is already your team's system of record, expect more "assign it to an agent" options.
